We have a really fun idea for you, making aromatic play dough at home using your favorite aromas. Kids love sensory learning and what better way than for a great combo of play dough and aroma? The fun part is that you can do it with your child and they can help chose the aroma that they love.
1 cup all purpose flour
1/2 cup salt 2 teaspoons cream of tartar
1.5 Tablespoons cooking oil
8-12 drops of Fragrance Oil
1 cup boiling water
In a large mixing bowl, mix flour, salt, and cream of tartar together. Add cooking oil and fragrance oil to the dry ingredients. In a small saucepan, add 1-cup water and food coloring and bring to a boil. Add boiling water to dry ingredients and mix until it sticks together. Allow to cool for a few minutes and then knead dough. Store in airtight containers. Refrigeration isn’t necessary but will make your play dough last longer. Scented play dough smells yummy so make sure you tell the kids not to eat it.
Some our ideas that kids love would be:
